Conner and Kyle's first day of school...

Today was Conner (4th grade) and Kyle's (2nd grade) first day of school (Jake starts after Labor day). This year they had to ride the bus. We are about 2 miles away from the school. The both had a good day. After Kyle got lost finding his class.

Conner had Japanese class today and learned a phrase. "Boku wa Conner desu." (my name is Conner).
The also had a "Ringing in the year" ceremony on the playground first thing in the morning. Can you see the gorgeous view they have of the East China Sea. The school is very small about 260-270 kids. It's the smallest DODDS school on Okinawa.

Mona Kids Jungle...

A couple of weeks ago we went to Mona Kids Jungle. It's a indoor play area. The kids had a blast, and ask to go back everyday. They had so much fun.

End of Summer...

Yesterday, we hung out with our friends from CA. They are on there way to mainland, Japan and stopped in Okinawa to see us. We went to Araha beach. A really nice beach park with a netted off swimming area to keep the jellyfish away. And a great play pirate ship with a fun zip line. The water was so nice and warm. To end the day went to American Village for something to eat and the kids favorite Yogurtland.

Yogurtland...

The kids favorite place. It's a cool place where you can pick your favorite frozen yogurt and toppings. Jacob gets Strawberry yogurt, with a mixture of toppings from fresh strawberries, brownies, and Japanese cookies, etc.. Kyle and Conner get chocolate yogurt with brownies, and Japanese cookies. Mike got a mixture of yogurt, and I got pistachio, coconut, and pineapple yogurt. Yummy!!!! (Sarah was sleeping and woke up to finish off Jacobs yogurt).

When a 3 year old has to potty, they have to potty...

Sarah and I were out shopping and she says, "Mommy I have to go potty." OK, no problem I just follow the signs to the bathroom. We get into the bathroom and we find that they have the Japanese toilets. Sarah wasn't to sure about them. It was an adventure showing Sarah how to use them.

Swimming and Baby Teeth...

Today was our last day of swim lessons, fun day. The kids had fun swimming in the pool, lunch and more swimming. All the kids move up next year, which will put Conner at the last level of swim lessons. He knows all the different swimming strokes better than I do. Conner and Kyle love going off the diving board. Kyle especially likes going off the high dive.
Conner love diving.
More pictures of fun in the sun.

Another exciting thing that happened today. Kyle lost his first tooth. Yay! The tooth is waiting under his pillow for the toothfairy. I wonder what the toothfairy brings Dollars or Yen?

Update....

It's been a couple of weeks since we arrived in Okinawa. We got a house with a back yard, near a park. The rooms are really small but we will manage. Last Saturday they delivered our household good shipment. Boy, did we pack a lot of stuff. We are still trying to find room for it all. It will probably take me a month to get all the boxes unpacked and organized, but I did find a store to help me with that. It's the 100yen store. Close to the dollar store back home but better. Now I'm on the hunt to find more of them. I heard there are a couple near our base.

The back of our house.

Mike's first day driving on the left. Yes, that's a McDonald's. We haven't ventured in yet, but the kids are begging.
